What Is Surf Select?
Surf Select is Surf Nation's national identification program, open to players ages U9–U17 who want to test themselves against top talent from across the country. Standout players move through a series of regional and national events, with the strongest performers earning a spot on a Surf Select team that competes in some of the top domestic and international events in youth soccer. The Mid-America Region Camp is Mississippi Surf's local entry point into that pathway — this is where the process starts for our players.

Club Recommendation
Coaches recommend standout players from Mississippi Surf to attend Regional tryouts.

Regional Tryout
Players attend a Surf Select Regional camp — for our region, that's the Mid-America Region Camp.

National Tryout
Standout players from Regionals are invited to National Tryout events based on their age group.

Roster Selection
Selected players are placed on Surf Select National teams, competing in top domestic and international events.

Pathway by Age Group
Once a player advances past the regional stage, the path forward looks a little different depending on age:
U9–U11
National Tryouts
Top performers from the regional program attend a National Camp to earn a spot on the Surf Select Blue or White national teams.
U12–U13
Regional Cup
Players selected from Regionals form teams for the Regional Cup, held over President's Day weekend in San Diego, where they're scouted for national teams.
U14
Champions League
A tournament-style event open to every U14 team across Surf Nation — players are evaluated based on how they perform on the field.
U15–U17
College ID & Recommendation
Players attend the Surf Select College ID camp, where standouts are selected for Surf Select National teams.
